Johan Früh was born Jan 2,1830 in Geiselberg, Germany. His parents were Peter Früh and Barbara Bachman. He was reared to man's estate on a farm in Geiselberg, and received a fair German education. In May 1855 he married Eva Mayer. She was born November 6, 1832 in Geiselberg, Germany. At the age of 27 Johann made the decision to immigrate to America with his wife and first child. They emigrated from Le Havre, France. They traveled in steerage on the ship the William Nelson. They arrived in New York Jan 2, 1857. Thence to Brown County Ohio. Johann Freeh made his intention to become a citizen Dec. 21, 1860. In Ohio they located for two and a half years in the northeastern portion of Eagle township. They then located in Washington Township for about three years; from Washington Township they returned to Eagle. Johan and Eva had five children, viz., Henry, Magdalene, George, John and Maggie. Johan Freeh was a member of the German Lutheran Church at Arnheim. He owned 150 acres of land in South Fincastle, Ohio, upon which he had erected fine and substantial buildings, making it one of the best farms in the county. He was reared to man's estate on a farm, and received a fair German education. In May 1855 he married a Miss Myer, by whom he had five children, viz., Henry, Magdalene, George, John and Maggie. In 1857 with his wife and one child, he emigrated to America, came to Ohio, and located for two and a half years in the notheastern portion of the township. He then located in Washington Township for about three years; from Washington Township they returned to Eagle. Mrs. Freeh is a member of the German Luthern Church. He owns 150 acres of land, upon which has been erected fine and substantial buildings, making it one of the best farms in the county. | |||||||||||
